Acidic soil (below pH 5.5) can have a significant impact on growth, yield and response to nutrients, resulting in reduced yield and wasted fertiliser and money. Soils become increasinly acidic due to crop uptake, leaching and applications of fertilisers and manures. It is important to regularly test soils and correct pH.
